The Musical Electronics Library (MEL) is a lending library of handmade electronic musical devices in Auckland, New Zealand. MEL is located at the Audio Foundation, in the sub-basement of the Parisian Tie Factory, 4 Poynton Terrace, Auckland 1010. MEL is open on Saturdays from 12-4pm, when a volunteer will be present to assist patrons and issue items from the collection. Items can be returned to Audio Foundation staff during gallery hours: Tuesday-Saturday 12-4pm.

MEMBERSHIP POLICIES:

Membership is available to all Auckland residents.

Membership is free, with an optional joining donation - $20 is suggested.

Membership may be revoked at the discretion of library staff.

LENDING POLICIES:

There are no borrowing charges.

The lending period is six weeks.

Up to three items can be borrowed at any time.

Fees may be charged for overdue items, or membership may be suspended.

A replacement fee will be charged for severely damaged items.

Members are welcome to use library items in live performances and recordings. It is suggested that acknowledgement of MEL be given where possible.
