"Gentle Persuasion: The Sensual Sounds of Mother Nature -- Awesome Thunderstorms Coupled with Pachelbel's Canon".

This circuit is called the Lil Sidrassi and it's very brutal and loud. Designer Peter Blasser of ciat-lonbarde.net describes it as “a very touchable bee motorcycle sound maker box”. It has five oscillators arranged in a ring, each one modulating the next, which results in a lot of chaos and noise. The circuit is built point-to-point on a paper circuit board. The case has body contacts on the front. These are made by pushing brass drawing-pins into the case and wiring them up to the circuit board. When you touch these contacts with your fingers, electricity flows through your skin, creating new weavings of the circuit, resulting in different pitches and timbres. It's safe to play it this way because it's powered off 9V only.

Playing this relies on the resistance of your skin, which changes depending on how much moisture there is around, so it helps to have a sponge or mug of water to dampen your fingers if they're too dry, or if there's no humidity. Please wipe down the machine after use.

This design has some component values deliberately left up to the user, so each one sounds unique. You can build your own, look here: http://goo.gl/fkxEhw

Powered by 9V battery or 9V DC centre-negative power supply.

This box is named in memory of Richard Neave, who would have really liked it.
